Meatball Parmesan

Meatballs
in a tasty marinara sauce smothered in plenty of melted cheese!
ingredients
For
the meatballs:

1 pound ground beef
(and/or pork or veal)
·
1 small onion, finely
diced
·
4 cloves garlic, grated
·
1 egg, lightly beaten
·
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
·
1/4 cup parmigiano
reggiano (parmesan), grated
·
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
·
2 tablespoons parsley,
chopped (and/or basil) (optional)
·
salt and pepper to taste
For
the meatball parmesan:
·
2 cups marinara sauce
·
2 cups mozzarella,
shredded
·
1/2 cup parmigiano
reggiano (parmesan), grated
·
8 ounces pasta
directions
For
the meatballs:
1.
Mix everything, form
into 1-2 tablespoon balls and either pan fry in oil over medium-heat until
browned on all sides, about 2-4 minutes per side OR roast in a preheated
350F/180C oven until lightly golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
For
the meatball parmesan:

Spread the marinara
sauce in the bottom of a baking pan, top with the meatballs, sprinkle on the
cheese and bake in a preheated 350F/180C oven until the sides are bubbling, the
cheese has melted and turns a light golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
3.
Meanwhile cook the pasta
as directed on the package.
4.
Serve the meatball
parmesan on the pasta and enjoy!
